My path has been a little different. I started out in the IT department, but realized I loved working at the library and wanted to do more. From IT I went to Branch Manager, back to IT as Manager, Marketing Manager, then finally Director. I got my Masters while in IT before starting in management.

Sorry to hear that. I could see the corporate retail world being a challenging environment to work in. Hopefully you’ve found something else that makes you happy.

I know it sounds boring, but your library’s databases are a treasure trove too! Learn coding with Fiero Code, a new language (even ASL) with Mango, or explore local & national news archives. Plus, dive into your family history with genealogy tools. Just some examples…so much to discover!

I’ve added it to my reading list! One of my favorite reads is The Soul of a New Machine. This looks like it could have a similar vibe.
