When this "Palestine Resistance" lapel button was made in 1948, it was to support the Jews of Palestine, who were fighting the Arab onslaught intended to drive them into the sea. Everyone then understood that "Palestine" referred to the Jewish homeland and that "Palestinians" were Jews.

What a disgusting betrayal. The US and Israel voted WITH Russia in the U.N. against a resolution condemning Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Shame on Trump. Shame on the Republicans who have enabled his corruption of US foreign policy. And shame on Israel for endorsing this vile American perfidy.

A baby boom in Israel: This is the classic Jewish response to savage persecution — to double down on Jewish continuity.
Within weeks of liberation, survivors of the Nazi deaths camps were getting married. My father's family was murdered in Auschwitz, so he told my mother he wanted a lot of kids.

On this #ThanksgivingDay, I am grateful for the 3rd Cavalry Squadron of the 80th Infantry Division of the @USArmy, which on 6 May 1945 liberated the Nazi death camp at #Ebensee, thereby saving the life of the teenager who would later become my father.

Every antisemitic murder is a horror. But there is an added layer of evil in the slaughter of Rabbi Kogan. Chabad emissaries worldwide are famed for their kindness, joy, and tolerance. It is in keeping with Chabad's mission that it asks people to "do a mitzvah"—a good deed—in Rabbi Kogan's memory.

If Columbia students scornfully walked out on a speaker because he was black or Asian or Muslim or Hispanic, their bigotry would fiercely condemned. But when antisemitic students refuse to listen to a speaker — even a noted journalist — because he's an Israeli Jew, it's just another day on campus.
