Michigan here—we’re cheap on the other side of the lake too! Have an amazing time out there. If you do beer, Pliny the Elder is brewed by Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa and it’s pretty much everything you either love or hate about an IPA.

My wife and daughter loved it. I went to Korbel instead and drank grocery store sparkling wine (but they do have a beautiful winery and the tour is interesting.)

Armstrong Redwoods just north of Guerneville is amazing and way less crowded than Muir Woods. If you like zip lining, there is a place called Alliance Redwoods just outside of Occidental. The Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa is fun. Recommend the El Pueblo Inn in Sonoma as a decent place to stay
