My Essen fomo is strong, but I love seeing the first pics of Soothsayers out in the wild.
Check it out at the Play to Z booth!

For table hog games, how big is too big? I'd love to see some measurements of the smallest tables that you regularly play games on. 🎲✂️

This is my Arches prototype. It spreads over roughly 11 sq ft (1 sq meter).

My sly trivia party game, OUTFOX the FOX, is now on sale on Amazon and Target (online)! It'll be on store shelves soon.

Rank Top 5 lists & spot the fake answer (The Fox!)

It recreates the team fun of pub trivia night. The game's one-vs-many structure pits the question reader vs. everyone else.

Protospiel Chicago was fun and productive this past weekend. I played 25 prototypes (!) from other designers and felt like I was able to help at least a few of them unlock the next evolution of their games.

I tested Arches, Pasghetti, Compass & Ink, and Food Frenzy and got helpful feedback.

My aunt spilled a full glass of red wine all over my somewhat elaborate Ramp n Roll pinball style prototype.

Funniest thing I've seen this week.

My forthcoming Monkey Mayhem! game from @scrungo.games just won a big award!

The annual Independent Toy Awards are decided based on votes from toy retailers in the UK.

This game should start showing up on store shelves in international markets soon, but will be delayed in the US due to tariffs.

I'll be demoing Positano a lot over the next few days! If you're at Gen Con, stop by the SlugFest booth (1329) and say hi.

Just played my first couple games of 52 Realms. Super fun! Extremely well balanced (barely lost and then barely won).
I'm curious about any key 🎲✂️ lessons you've learned pursuing the PnP business model for Postmark Games @matthewdunstan.bsky.social @rorymuldoon.bsky.social.

At long last, I have unlocked all the achievements in Slay the Spire, just in time to start over from the beginning in the sequel.
I've never before sunk so many hours into a single game. I love the feeling of exploration, trying out new combos to see what you can unleash.

🎲✂️Lessons from Old Hits #3: Can't Stop (1980)
1. Press-your-luck needs variety (2s feels so much different than 7s)
2. Odds-defying comebacks are so fun
3. Loss aversion is a strong incentive
4. When a game shines on BGA, it can stay relevant indefinitely

Other lessons for us?

🎲✂️ Lessons from Old Hits #2: PIT (1903!)

1. The Bear adds spiciness to the often sedate mechanic of set collection
2. The Bull provides the perfect mix of risk and reward
3. The rules incentivize players to act silly: role playing as commodities traders, shouting over each other

Any other lessons?
