For anyone who stumbles onto this with the same question: the dog is fine at the end of the movie, and was one of the biggest highlights of the film!

We had a Harry Potter themed wedding at the National Railroad Museum. There were a lot of nice nerdy touches, but the one everyone talked about was how I custom built a talking sorting hat that told our guests where they were sitting for dinner. Even got a British voice actor to keep it authentic!
