I'm 68, and I spent three weeks in the dark room with a case of measles in 1961 (age 5, and several years before the vaccine was developed). I take a time out from on-topic when I teach pre-med physics to describe what the disease does. As a society we have forgotten, and lost the horror.

There is a bit more learning curve, especially learning the etiquette for joining up as a contributor to the moderated groups. Far from really adapted here at this point.

This is a welcome update to the (old!) pioneering paper by Sullivan et al 1978 Science, vol 199 pp. 377-378, 27 Jan 1978. Our use of radio technology has changed drastically since then.

I'd like to join the feed. I'm now retired, an astronomer by training. I taught physics and astronomy at the undergraduate level for more than 25 years, though I have not yet published this century. I'm a stellar spectroscopist.

The I-131 treatment for our Spike (back in October) seems to have done the trick. Now I need to remember to get rid of the formerly radioactive cat box litter.
