Have I mentioned lately how much I hate the term “gay elder”? I am 59, not 89. I think it is supposed to he respectful, but I find it denigrating and dismissive.

So, no, I don't think "allyship," as an identity, is a helpful index of much, other than some people's narcissism.
Any "allyship" that doesn't take queer and trans self-determination as its starting point, or that sees queer and trans liberation as contingent, is inherently bankrupt.
