Prematurely Anti-Fascist
problem the Stones had is not fading away. I remember being around 10 in the 1980's seeing Mick Jaggar--visibly older than my parents--doing Mick Jaggar stuff on a stage and I was embarrassed for him. The Beatles were a preseverd-in-Amber phenomenon of the past that was fun to discover in my teens.

That chart doesn't even include the 44billion, in kind donation to Trump that the X/Twitter platform served as in '24

Trump doesn't want to be Cuomoed.

The only other "modern day HST" i can think of is Tiabbi and it's interesting that those that have tried to ape his style seem to turn out to be status-obsessed frauds.

I understand the comparison because I remember reading stuff she wrote around the '16 election and thinking "Oh she's trying to do the HST thing." But the more I realized she was sucking up to power rather than challenging it. There was nothing Gonzo about her. She was very calculated.

She was "a political version" of HST?! In what world was HST not political? How is the guy who wrote Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 not political?

#15 I have to agree with. Injecting weed IS for dummies.

But basically this is a list of 49 ways to be an asshole when someone offers you a free toke.

Because I was always interested in that kind of thing, I read that book hoping it would be a layman's overview of recent early hominid findings. And each chapter sort of started that way, but invariably devolved into his dumb fucking ramblings.

I think it's because they all do it and assume everyone else does too.

Kaine's resting expression combined with his unkempt hair is the personification of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. He's a living shrug.

Does Coumo understand that Nadler's committee power doesn't come with the seat? Coumo would just be a freshman rep. I understand why someone like him would want to be in the Senate--cushy job you get for six years at a time--but the House? That would be torture for a megalomaniac.

"But other scholars say that point is moot: two-termers may still be president, so long as they are not elected to get there."

If the key to the loophole around 22A is by ignoring 12A, why do "other scholars" consider 12A moot? The article doesn't give the reasoning, just the conclusion.

That's how the SS started. It was just Himmler playing dress-up.

The federal government cannot tell California to not hold elections. We still have local and state government to maintain. There will be elections, but whether or not those results are honored at the federal level is in question.

If an Adams endorsement was worth anything he wouldn't give it to anyone because he'd be the incumbent mayor cruising to reelection.
