I am definitely in the other camp, absolutely love both of the games, but particularly the first one, really like the way the open world stuff was handled personally and I loved how mimir had a story to tell you everytime you got into the boat to go somewhere new

Is vengeance actually better than og smt5? Because I don’t have the most positive things to say about that game as someone who did everything in the original

A future where we rely on machines to do everything instead of cultivating human talent is not a future I nor most people want to be a part of, if anything this just means our institutions are failing us and instead of course correcting we’re creating awful tools to pick up the slack

There was/is a viral ghibli studio AI filter over the last month or two (or three, idek anymore) and it pretty much guaranteed that the vast majority of the time you see anything resembling that art style is made with AI, like this here image

My existing skills are as follows:
Programming - None
Music - None
Art - 2 years of experience on Adobe photoshop + a bit of illustrator and Maya for 3D
And in general a tad bit of experience using unity and unreal 3 or 4, but not much.
I’m more interested in making story focused rpgs I guess.

Oh nice, never heard of Ren’py, I’ll check it out too. I’ve never tried RPG maker, but I’ve heard a lot of people like it a lot

I have used unity and unreal 3?4? before, I was thinking of trying godot as I would like to start making a 2D game first. Is it best to just kind of download an engine and just play around with it?

Coding is definitely where I struggle the most as of now. While I have not used the programs I listed above in at least 6 years, to this day I still feel I have a better grip on them than coding after the 1 year I did of game design at college. That said, design is what interests me the most.
