If you are still there - one of the best ways to see the Statue of Liberty, for free, is with the Staten Island Ferry. Take from Mnhttn to SI, disembark at SI, & take the one coming back. Totally free and if you plan it around sunset, you will get a great view of lady liberty with an orange sky.

Wasn’t there some committee/ commission put together in last days of his 1st term, advocating architecture something? It was basically just throwing up columns, Greek or otherwise, everywhere. But Trump 2.0 will most likely be just like his trump watch, tacky, gaudy and vulgar gold plating.

This is wild 😳. How many books were sold? Perhaps bulk purchases from some think tank or individuals, and voila! A ‘groundswell’ is generated out of nowhere. This, coupled with the AI generated podcasts, and we have a ecosystem. 🙃

Odd/interesting. Read that article earlier (UK AM time) and the article noted Mr LaFeber as a med student. Now, it states that he is ‘studying sciences’. Prbly nothing, but usually nyt notes it in errata. Look it up here, archive.ph/d7XQh

Agreed on this. I also take issue with the Manhattan Inst people on this. MI is not the serious policy outfit people think it is.

There was a time, in my mind abt mid/late 2000s, when Manhattan Institute had a veneer of respectability/credibility. It was a veneer, for sure, but in the last few years, they have totally done away with even that.

True, lost luggage is rare but on my recent int. trips, bags didn’t arrive w/me. One of them, nyc->ldn, the airline insisted I check-in my carryon. I obliged but bag did not arrive on my flight. Bag got delivered to me the next day. My carryon wasn’t heavy. Risky if carrying two laptops etc.
