Started tearing down the spare D18 to build another D18 with Tera 3.15 gears. Still have to remove the C clip that holds the main shaft in.

Also rebuilt the rear driveshaft so I don’t have to worry about a +30 yr old U-Joint coming apart n the road.

Finally got around to installing the Holley Easy Level so the gas gauge works for the first time ever. It’s great that there’s no float to deal with. This tank is bespoke to the #m38a1 so there aren’t a lot of option for fuel senders.

Quickly found out how loud the jeep is with the top on.the quick fix was sound deadening from Amazon. It helped a lot but there’s still
More that will need to be done. Mostly fixing everything these that rattles inside. #jeep

Also picked up a Koenig Standard Half Cab. Been looking for one ever since getting the Jeep. They’re quirky and with no tailgate a full top would be useless as the hatch wouldn’t be able to open with the spare back there.

Been meaning to install the MP50 antenna mount n the #m38a1 for a while. It’ll cover the hole left by the PO who mounted an old CB antenna there.

Spent the day at the local HS Auto Shop. Donated an old welder and helped out the kids build their postal Jeep.

The first thing I noticed while building it was all of the nostalgic smells. Not sure if it was the grease, threadlock or just all of the plastic and rubber but it smelled like a #Tamiya. It has a Hop-Up ball-diff and a Sport Tuned motor. This was my Holy Grail R/C car from back in the day.

After priming the carb at the pump, the engine fires up without any choke or throttle. Ignore all the rattling. That’s just the loose parts in the glove box. #m38a1 #vintagejeep

It’s like Xmas when ordering #vintageheep parts from #kaiserwillysautoparts. This should hold me over for a little while. Ordered on Sunday and they arrived on Thursday!

It’s taken two days to remove all of the brake lines as well as the Bendix HydroVac. Why two days you may ask? Because there was a lot of frustration in removing 72 year old brakelines without going losing one’s shit in the process. No fitting were damaged. #m38a1 #oldjeep #jeep
