In an attempt to emulate realism, I feel we've gone too far into the simulation and creating too many steps to do that. I'm not here to say older games are better, but it's refreshing when a big AAA game doesn't make me do every step for an otherwise mundane task when that isn't the game's focus

The HUGE nostalgia I just felt. I was working a shitty job and trying to push through college. Those episodes would be some of the things I'd look forward to keep me going

I think sometimes, people have too many fears surrounding spoilers. For me, I think spoilers are great! Sometimes, those are just the things to get me in conceptually on what a game (or other pieces of media) are about and it's a far better way of building my interest then a simple summary/pitch

By in large, I no longer care to play most games day one. There are a few titles that I let my excitement take control (Zelda will always be a soft spot), but I'm fine with playing a game years after the fact. I recently played Disco Elysium and enjoyed it so much

I can not fathom why studios (and some audiences) want live action so much. Never in my life have I said, "Wow, this cartoon is amazing! You know what would make it better? Removing everything that made it unique"

I can not, in any way, fathom being so uninterested in messaging my wife that I ask an Ai to do it. If that becomes the case, then perhaps there are bigger issues in my life than pondering on how to respond to her

The burnout is real. I'm trying to push through the next two weeks and make it to my vacation

Ocarina of Time is the same for me. Whenever I'm stressed about the world, it play that game. Sometimes, I just put on a ten hour loop of the intro song to get lost in

That's what I'm afraid of. They had a pretty good series of TV shows that lightly referenced the movies but didn't revolve around them. I can't see why they can't do that with some movies as well

Maybe at announcement, it came at a time when you would be most excited but now, you're not in a state to be excited for it. Who knows, maybe when it is out or some time after, you'll be in that same state to be excited again

Glad I'm not the only one in that boat. Thought I wouldn't like it but one good run got me hooked

In general, I've noticed these conversations are centered online. Talking with friends or strangers in person gets a whole new conversation going. They'll extrapolate where random online commentators just want to drop a quick opinion to seem relevant to their internet peers

My philosophy is "It'll be there when I'm ready." I know I've played games where if I waited for when I was ready and genuinely interested, it would've had a greater impact on me and I would've enjoyed it far more had I not rushed engagement

At this point, my only real connection for Nintendo is Zelda but as much as I love the series, I can see myself wanting a Switch 2

I appreciate that the only part I can read on the original post is "fuck you"

Agreed! My friends loves doing that. He's very crafty and creative like that and I always love seeing what he makes.

Myself? Maybe a prop here and there if I get the motivation. At best some cheap minis and a grid map for combat

The double-edge sword of actual play shows is that they help garner interest but unintentionally create a wall of expectation. Its cool to be able to perform and make set pieces! But I think most home games should be under the pretense of you and your friends dicking around and having fun

As a kid, I hated them. Now, as an adult, I realized they were just giant puzzles themselves and not small sections of puzzles. More involved to keep up with but once you get it, they're really good
