Well, David Hull standing in for Vella was the next best thing… Plus Josh Groban dropped by to honor Adam Schlesinger.
If you have no clue what this is about, check out Crazy Ex-Girlfriend somgs on YouTube. The series was pulled from Netflix unfortunately (they do have Rachel Bloom’s comedy show).

Beautiful work by Zachery C. Longboy yesterday evening at the opening of Signals (digital media exhibit) in Vancouver.

Saw Taylor Tomlinson yesterday during her ‘Save Me’ tour. Smart, funny and original, focusing on religious upbringing and other family issues. Highly recommend to see live (not just on Netflix). Opening act Dustin Nickerson was lovely, too.

We had an owl in the garden that was thoroughly investigated by Animal Crossing’s resident owl Blathers as well.

Quote this with a book you read way too young that explains why you are the way you are.

Very proud that VR experience Trailblazer, for which I did some writing and narrative design, has been selected for Cannes. Congrats to the team at Singer Studios! Trailblazer, which is about Bertha Benz’ unique first car trip, will be available commercially soon on Quest as well.

Happy I got to catch the Keith Haring exhibit at MoPop before closing. His ideas on how art should be in as many places as possible really resonate, especially now.

I’m a bit behind on my comic reading, but looking forward to catching up with these.

Here’s some titles I recently read and highly recommend if you like sci-fi/mystery/dystopian stories. Other works by the same writers/artists also warmly recommended!

My new Carrie 4K blu-ray arrived today. It includes a load of extras and I love the new artwork by Laz Marquez. Got it via Rough Cut Video - highly recommended if you’re in Canada looking for cult cinema and special editions.

Love it when a game casually acknowledges another game. This, by the way, is Spilled Mushrooms on the Playdate. Smart little puzzler that kept me playing for hours.

Still thankful for visiting the exquisite Interview With the Vampire activation at SDCC last year. I’d not seen the show yet back then and the quality of the immersive experience put it much higher on my watchlist. Now it’s one of my favourite current series and the SDCC poster is up on our wall!

Happy that my tiny immersive live/digital hybrid experience has been nominated ‘most creative game’ at the #play24 festival in Hamburg. Can’t be there live, but looking forward to experience all events and other nominees online!

I’m grateful and shocked that my little thing at Vancouver Fringe is close to sold out, before the run has even started! This show is all about sharing personal stories and connecting, so I can’t wait to see our ‘mailbox of solace’ (a crucial part of the show) expand over the next 2 weeks.

This cute red building, the Urbanium, will host our immersive show Last One Standing during Vancouver Fringe next month. Excited! More info here: www.vancouverfringe.com/events/last-...
