Just finished! Forgot how dense older King books could be. Fun read though. Also interesting seeing King and Straub go back and forth. #booksky

Huh, my first Negroni, not the taste I was expecting. Hope it grows on me. Since I bought a bunch...

Finally got the big root out from under the sidewalk. Totally safe...

Just finished, good book. Especially if you're into writing, screenwriting, etc. I'd wondered what happened to Ed Burns. #booksky

I think Elon Musk has finally flown too close to the sun. Like Icarus of Greek mythology, he could well follow the classic hubris, atë, nemesis arc common to many ancient Greek tragedies: arrogance breeds bad decisions, bad decisions beget failure, and failure invites vengeance.

RIP Tom Robbins. Just heard the crappy news. A friend gave me this copy of Fierce Invalids back in 2002, which launched me on a years-long adventure down the Robbins rabbit hole of wonderful novels. #booksky 📚💙

This series is really fun! Starting book 3 today. #booksky 📚 💜

I wish I hadn't read this book. Oh, it's masterfully written, by the brilliant Kazuo Ishiguro. But the premise/plot is beyond ugly. It's hideous. Imagine an insider tale from a child at Dachau, or maybe the Sand Creek Massacre. Ishiguro uses all his tools to ensure you feel everything. #booksky 💙📚

Is there a better line than, "There's a warm wind blowing the stars around, and I'd really love to see you tonight. "

I found my backyard anole lizard friends' hibernation den at the bottom of this pot stack. At least I hope they're hibernating...

My dad turned me on to Robert Crais' Cole/Pike series decades ago, and these books still bring it! I started and finished this new release last night in one go. #booksky 📚💙

The other day I revisited my local Irish pub and was reminded of the inspiration for the name of one of my first novel's characters, FBI man Bob Slane. What do you think, good guy or bad guy? #booksky

Just finished! Heh, can't believe I've read 17 of these. That's up there with Encyclopedia Brown for me! #booksky

I finished the year the way I started: with Mary Stewart's excellent Arthurian fantasy saga.

I don't read much fantasy and The Blacktongue Thief was a surprise homerun. And yes, lol, I did read my own book (had to before publication).

I first read The Day Before Midnight in the 1980s and barely remembered it for this re-read. It's amazing! A must-read if you like military-techno thrillers.

I was a little let-down by the Crichton/Patterson techno-thriller, but loved Scalzi's latest yet again!

Martha Wells' Murderbot series books were my favorite reads of the year--I burned through them all quickly!

I read these 46 books last year (see thread) in roughly this order. Lost of great stuff! #52bookchallenge #booksky 💙📚

Just finished book 2 in Mary Stewart's Merlin/King Arthur saga. I remember liking the trilogy as a kid, and decades later I'm loving it! If you're into Dark Ages historical-fantasy fiction, I highly recommend this story. #booksky

Just finished this big, fun read! Slower and denser than modern thrillers, but what a payoff. #booksky
