I don’t know the specifics of the Creation of USAID but in general I believe congress creates and funds the agencies via laws and budgets. The executive branch is responsible to manage the operations. The executive branch cannot just shut down an agency created by congress. Separation of powers.

I’m a little confused here how we ended up talking about the Torah? As I understand it the Torah is the Hebrew bible and contains only the first five chapters of the roughly 46 books of the Christian bible. The whole point is honestly that the teachings of Jesus were leftist.

They are not similar in approach. MAGA and trump are fascinated with the story of vengeance and punishment as practiced by the god of the Old Testament. It does not make those that choose to follow the New Testament teachings of Jesus invalid. Jesus was a radical and his teachings still are.

Per the words of Jesus, he changed all the rules. In lieu of vengeance, he taught to turn the other cheek. Instead of stoning/ killing/ rejecting the stranger, he taught empathy, forgiveness, and embracing of the stranger.

The Old Testament is a book of vengeance, retribution, and punishment. The New Testament focuses on the the teachings of empathy, forgiveness, and kindness. They are not the same. Ministers often teach out of both sides like they are the same. They are not.

It should be clarified as to what biblical principals you are referring to. It is unfortunate that Christianity has currently combined the Old Testament and New Testament into one document with no real discussion of the troubling conflicts between the texts.
