Completely forgot to show it off here but last week I released a zine compiling all those album covers I redesigned. It's called "Design Tracks", it's available for free on itchio and I made a sick cover for it (one more hehe).

Bonus: cool covers
The cover of the Japanese edition of "The Book of Human Insects" by Osamu Tezuka. It features a magenta background, the title in big blocky kanji with a yellow and green gradient. Went to a book fair yesterday and bought some old Japanese magazines solely based on the amazing visuals

Z-week of the Alphabet Superset: "!" by Lara Somogyi 🪉

A very sweet album that invites you to contemplate a dreamy world.

Y-week of the Alphabet Superset: "Headplate" by Kumo 99

Most of the promo photos the band uses are from the same photographer (including their last 2 albums) and you can definitely recognise his style. So I tried to put my own spin on their collaboration.

The album's atmosphere and tone immediately conjured up images of old computer consoles and 70s paranoia so of course I went for this analog weird map look.

Just finished watching the LotR trilogy with my fiancée. She'd never seen the third film and I hadn't watched them all in english so that was a really nice "discovery" for us. Also, of all the incredibly poignant and beautiful lines, this fucking moment broke me and will stay with me forever.

I think this might be one of my favourite redesigns. The album is very groovy and chill, almost meditative in some parts, and I think I managed to recreate that!

Another one of my absolute favourites (teenage me loved indie rock)! Its themes are very centered about death in a poetic way so I went for something contemplative and vaguely sinister.

Last night I watched Jean-Pierre Melville's "Le Samouraï" and I loved it so much I had to make some posters. The first one is the strongest concept but I feel the second would make more marketing sense as it shows the main actor's face (and back then you wouldn't hide Alain Delon's face).

An absolute classic! The album's themes are numerous and varied so I went with a rather literal and abstract interpretation of its title which imo perfectly encapsulates this profusion of themes.

An album that's very close to my heart so I was very glad to finally be able to work on it!

Q-week of the Alphabet Superset: "Quarantine Sessions" by Tom Misch!

So this one is a lot closer to the original concept than my usual designs, but I wanted to mix different techniques again and this album's playfulness was the perfect opportunity for it.

While I love this album I've always found its cover very tacky, so it wasn't difficult to move away and find a different concept.
