Long b4 Nuzzi, Judy Miller threw another NYT reporter out of the "NYT chair" when she arrived late for a BS feeding.
After the WH, Dan Rather posed for quintessential
face time reporter job limned by immortal Tom Shales.
Nuzzi is taking a lot of shit for what men do all the time.

Not so fast.
Every single reporter I met in the WH press room 50 years ago was all about the face time. Most of the stories were BS; as Watergate proved, the news is not in the WH press room. But air time and page one stories is, and that's what those ppl cared about. 1/2

Love to see Sophie at ease, in repose, and snuggly.
Love always wins.

Cataract surgery is way less awful than you think. You'll do fine, AI will or no.

She started writing movies only after Wayergate. Previous to that she was for decades a magazine journalist in New York, starting out at the NY Post. She was far from occasional, she was daily. I think you don't know what you're talking about.

She lived by the sword and has died by it. She gets it. Maybe you don't.

I will?
Thanks for letting me know.
Great piece, kicker is immortal, and Bernstein, who should know, because his parents did almost exactly the same thing, fairly highlights the wavy gravy zones succinctly. It's a story about how reporters get corrupted by colleagues and subjects. Close to homey.

His mother did almost exactly the same thing.

Thank you for the heads up on this. Great enterprise story about a true thug. Wowzer. Like the odious Mr. Potter in *It's A Wonderful Life*.

I love that bridge. It looks like a beautiful Japanese moon-watching garden for Sophie to enjoy. And the big breakfast afterwards, so cozy.
Thank you for a good start to a good day.

Lighten up. Especially if you're here for "respectful" discussion.

I love to see Sophie grokking her world without fear or favor. Was it a fox?

Braver now since she's been to the beach.
O brave new world, Sophie. Swimming will thrill you.

One of my favorite internet blog posts of all time was the London Bug Woman who started treating the foxes who live in Saint Pancras cemetery for mange by making them medicated jam sandwiches. Love wins.

Jam Sandwiches in the Rain
Dear Readers, when I was in St Pancras and Islington Cemetery last week, I noticed a fox resting on a mossy mound in the late winter sunshine. The foxes here are truly wild creatures, apt to melt a…

Some of my best observations took place walking dogs in all weathers. One, the right foot- and outer- wear makes all the difference. Two, winter and spring colors so much more vibrant in the rain.
Sophie the wise, wise as always.
