RIP mom. 03/09/1937 - 01/06/2025
Dementia kicked your ass in the end. No more battles and confusion. 12 yrs taking care of you....now what do I do? Still picking up the pieces for now.

Today I went and visited a nursing home that does memory care. The rooms are shared but, the level of care should be better. Not the ideal place but currently there is only one person here to take care of her and the others tonight!

Yesterday my mom and I had our medical interview for ALTC (AZ Long Term Care) through Medicaid. This will greatly help with covering my mom's care and lifting a huge financial burden from my shoulders. Drum roll....... She was instantly approved! 😭💖

You have to wonder what records they read! Makes sense why people are pissed off! #hospicecare #dementiacare #medicare

I upgraded mom's bed with a 4" memory foam topper, an egg crate topper too. We went from a 1 CD boombox to a 5 CD player (from her house). Still a load of shenanigans from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.🥱 #dementiacare #hospicecare

My youngest brother sent these to me. He is a huge collector of comics. All types.. He gave these to me in hopes that I can sell them and raise more money for my huge need for dental work.
I'll be posting a list after the first of the year.

The camera I put in my mom's room?
Let's just say ..."she's an active little shit in the middle of the night". We also added a bed alarm for when she gets out of bed. I need a nap 🥱

I put one in my mom's room today. Apparently last night she got up and wandered around the group home. Ended up in the laundry room and fell. They found her sleeping on the floor this morning! No call to me or hospice to report it!
Not a happy camper I can't move her unless I start over!

I need to raise 2-3k to pay for first month of care for my mom till her insurance kicks in! I really need help!
