All true flourishing is mutual. Anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is trying to get your help to oppress others, until they can figure out how to better oppress everyone, including you.

Speaking out against and resisting injustice is always right; it always matters.
Shameful. They seem to have targeted Venezuelan men with tattoos for the theatre of it. If they can do that to these people, they can do it to anyone.

Both the president and vice president showed clearly that the national-security system of the West is led by two men who cannot be trusted to defend America’s allies—and who deeply sympathize with the world’s most aggressive dictator.

Non-violent, polite even, solidly on the moral high ground, but do not comply. Question, say that "is immoral", say "you should be ashamed", say "you are lying", say "no", boo, capture on video, witness, report, do not move, do not buy, do not work for, do not consent.

May the difference between 1930s Germany and 2020s United States be that we have studied that history and listened to its warning to stand up early, en masse.

All flourishing can be and truly must be mutual - black, white, men, women, US, Canada, Mexico, people, the planet. Powerful people who want you to fear your neighbor are trying to manipulate you for their own benefit. We can all have enough if we work together in respect.

It takes so much effort to build good things - friendships, buildings, healthy communities. Sadly, the effort to ruin something is disproportional to what it took to build.
So much being destroyed now. When people realize what they allowed to happen and regret it, we won't be able to undo it.

There is an article in the Atlantic I found very sad but also interesting. The author described how Amway and delusions swallowed his family. I think it says a lot about the delusions of voters in the US.
A very moving piece from @andreapitzer.bsky.social, both about the personal experience of growing up in a family bankrupted by its Amway devotion, and also how Amway has integrated in and influenced two generations of American politics.
