The current state of affairs is so abysmal that the only way (imho) to avoid surrendering to despair and insanity is to recognise that we're in the presence of a massive, uncontrolled rightward thrust of a pendulum. Pendulums, by nature, swing back.

Are there virtuous tipping points in the techno-economic realm (renewables, electrification...) that can counterbalance the ominous climate tipping points looming ahead? One of the organisers of the Tipping Points Conference, recently held in Exeter, defended the idea.
