By the way—this is not an explanation—I just want to say I read this book at least 4 times before the musical (and now movie) came out.

So when my backyard feathered buddies chick-a-dee-dee-dee and I chick-a-dee-dee-dee back, are they calling me a predator, and am I being a jerk? Here I thought we were having fun (but that’s what predators probably think).
