@10,000 properties have been listed in the last 2 weeks, in and around the DC area. Approx 20 mile radius. If you pan out to 30-40 miles it’s far more grim. Almost all say “coming soon”.

Why canning matters:
8 cans of Walmart mandarin oranges $10.72
Half of that is water.
Me canning 8 jars: $3.49 large bag mandarins from Aldi plus lids $1.20 = $4.69. Glass does not affect taste (metal does), and the jars and rings you reuse. No other preservatives because oranges are acidic.

When I went looking for Paw Paws along the Potomac River, I came across this tree. It has weathered many storms because it has strong roots that banded together. May we all be the roots to hold Democracy together in this troubling time.
