Granting that, the group OP is quoting is a dark money group thats trying to make DSA out to be a bunch of outsiders, implying that continued rule by rich people is the organic desire of new york and that anything which disrupts that is Fishy

Yeah its a weird dynamic, and theres both left and right versions of it where theyre like, fans of DSA. That can certainly be confusing if youre not inside of it or involved in local politics. Looking at maines publication it seems like the most pro Plattner stance is to support but not endorse

I think theres a separate tendency of left populism thats been DSA adjacent but which isnt necessarily of dsa. Ive seen more support from lefty journalists or posters than from DSA members itself, though I wouldnt pretend there isnt any
