From a league standpoint, I'm sure they want their schools to draw crowds and attract eyeballs to NCHC TV. Poorly officiated games with no flow do not present a good product. If I was new to hockey I'd never come back after Saturday.

BCHL clearly needs to give you access to some video.

Hi Mike - thinking of your mailbag podcast question on the best newcomer that wasn't from CHL. I'm curious where Loranger ranked among your incoming players that didn't come from CHL or Usports.

I was pleasantly surprised about how well 86 played in the scrimmage against guys much bigger than him. I see the upside for sure, but also imagine he'll need more time to reach his full potential at this level than others.

This city election has me perplexed with McDonald connected to city labor, anti-street car, and hard right MAGA on DEI, Stothert main line GOP and I don't care if my mayor doesn't live here, Ewing mainline Dem and experience, and Harris from the liberal wing. What are you predicting?

CHL ages out at the same age as other Jrs. So an USports Fresh, Soph or Jr is no different age wise than a kid who went NCAA after exhausting his Jrs eligibility in USHL or BCHL.

Don't forget all the USports/CIS kids who played CHL and are now available. Decent talent that decided not to play Coast or wasn't ready for AHL playing at Canadian Universities.

I think most NCAA hockey fans forget about CIS/USports athletes being eligible. We don't assume USHL kids are good enough to go play AHL hockey, same goes for a number of non stars in the CHL who aged out. They are now able to come into NCAA teams with whatever college eligibility they have left.

Yeah I think we all thought that prior to the CHL rule change and settlement roster limits for those that opt-in. I'd expect we see more players enter the portal than exit but that's just a guess.
