Tonight I go into the Criterion Channel for a film directed by Jean-Pierre Melville.
I have a set of his films but this one..maybe his best.. isn’t in it. From 1966

In Todays Sunday Silent Cinema is a film from 1915 starring Theda Bara was a big early star of movies but sadly this is one of the very few if not the only one that still exists.

Finally going to see this.
I saw Dylan in Chicago which was the opening night of his tour being reunited with “The Band”
It was the only show on that tour where Dylan stayed in stage and joined in on all The Band songs they did that night.

It’s Wednesday. Time for my weekly trip down the dark alley to that Film Noir Theatre again.
This time it’s a film from 1961. From Germany. A picture set in the period right after WW2.
It’s Brilliant. And undoubtably Noir.

Today we start with a film from 1929 “Why be Good?” Followed by two early Stan Laurel (before Oliver) shorts”Gas and Air” and then “A Man About Town.”

Tonight rewatching an all time favorite. Yes there isn’t a whole lot that’s completely true but for me it’s this music and performances. The three of them played live right onto the soundtrack. And Gary Busey becomes Buddy Holly.
