Rhinoceros Hornbill spotted in the primary forest of the Malaysian Borneo Rainforest. Intact forests are incredibly important to these birds who’s population is in decline. #birds 🪶🧪 #photography

Hello friends it’s been awhile since my last post! Been trying new things in Asia 🫶 I love this image cause it seems to speak to the history of Taiwan, the old and new … and layers of colonization. #photography

Before I head into the jungle with no wifi I wanted to say Happy International Women’s Day. In all my faucets of life I wouldn’t be where I am if not for the bricks laid by women before me, and I hope moving through science and photography I will lay bricks for generations to come. 🧪💃🏻👯‍♀️📸🍃

We are not a nation of guns blazing fist pumping pride, but rather quite comfortable in our identity as neighbourly, and the country that shows up to support their friends. A country that chooses to celebrate diversity even if it is the path paved with adversity. #canada #pride 🇨🇦

Canada is not for sale. Sorry for the quietness lately, it has been a lot to process with all that has unfolded. To say the least I am proud for those that have put our differences aside to unite and a strong disdain for those that divide us. #canada 🇨🇦

Have you heard of the ABC bears? Through genetic testing these brown bears have a maternal polar bear ancestor. An example of extinction via hybridization heavily influenced by a warming habitat

Crested Cara Cara swoops in to check us out in Patagonia. These birds are not shy, similar to crows and ravens in Canada they are opportunistic and can be found where there might be an easy meal. #birds #falcons 🪶🧪 #photography #wildlife

Climate optimism is something we need now more than ever. Informed, grounded, and courageous optimism should never be mistaken for toxic positivity. At the end of the day we push forward for action because there’s still hope. #photography #climateoptimism #climatechange 🧪🐻‍❄️❄️

Braided Rivers of the high arctic in Canada and the colours of summer. Most photos of this region is often captured in white and ice but below all that for a few short weeks the landscape blooms with hardy berries, flowers, lichen and even fungi! #photography #arcticecosystem 🧪🌷🌱🍄

Polar bear paw prints approaching a seal breathing hole on sea ice. Just steps behind me was what was left of the seal. With fox tracks and bird prints on the carcass, there wasn’t even a skeleton left just blood. #photography #polarbears 🧪🐻‍❄️

Did you know that polar bear fur is not white but transparent and hollow? Almost prism like, and hence the light really shapes the perceived tones of colour you see. Here is a dramatic example of sunset colours peering from under Buggy One. Also their skin is black 🧪🐻‍❄️ #photography #polarbear

That time a whale held our boat hostage for 1h. Engine was turned off once whale was spotted in the distance. It approached and was spy hopping and rubbing up on the boat. It was cool to photograph his little hairs when he popped up. 🐋 #whales #photography #marinemammals 🧪

Far off ideas of skating on thin ice with polar bears , far off problems are knocking at our doors in the form of licking flames. For the unfortunate it doesn’t stop at the door or wait for an invite despite you believing or not. Thoughts are with Los Angeles #climatechange #polarbears 🧪🐻‍❄️🦊
