So many teachers have been telling me that they are getting queer books into the hands of readers, that they are working around bans and challenges and as much of the red tape and shadow banning as they can.

A teacher telling me they work at a Catholic school and they are happy there’s nothing on my cover that screams “queer”.

The Teacher: Student always come to me asking for romance. And I ask a “regular” romance and they say no. So I give them two girls kissing or whatever they want.

When I moved here, I quickly learned that I could do something and you good people of the internet helped me start the Queer and Trans (Not So Little) Free Library.

If you can help us add more books to the library, we can keep showing our queer and trans community that we care for them.

Hahaha. But these are golden. So you’re very right.

And maybe some people feel retellings are… less impressive so hide it?

Yessss. I have all these wonders and thoughts here.

Sometimes for my students I think it’s control over a big project and they all want to write big projects.

Especially stuff that’s not in the public domain.

You know. Stuff with active copyright.

But a lot of the conversation was about what happens if someone tries to sell inspired by x game and it’s so close it’s a direct retelling just in another mode.
