I picked up a copy, and it’s fantastic. I just finished the chapter on Parma and Guastalla and already added a bunch to my reading list based out of the footnotes!

Eagle Against the Sun is slightly dated, but very readable and imo still the best single volume history of the war in the pacific. If they’d be more interested in a memoir/personal narrative then With The Old Breed is excellent, or if that’s too gruesome then Goodbye Darkness.
