Fun to watch Netflix’s “A House of Dynamite” and see mentions of the secretive Raven Rock nuclear bunker, which was the primary setting in my high-tech thriller “Firefall.” (BTW, not the greatest ending for that movie.)

The eye of Hurricane Erin is about 200 miles north of us here in Puerto Rico, and it’ll miss us. But we’re already starting to get a whipping from the rain and winds! Batten down the hatches!

Just watched the umpteenth remake of "The War of the Worlds" on Amazon Prime. It's god-awful, riddled with laughable, absurd plotlines.

Learn knitting. Play a game of chess. Plenty of better ways to spend your 90 minutes.

I've heard several news commentators - like Katy Kay of Morning Joe today - refer to Kilmar Abrego Garcia as "Garcia."

This is incorrect.

His paternal surname is Abrego. So the only correct second references are "Abrego" or "Abrego Garcia."

So far Grok hasn't done a great job reinterpreting photos I've uploaded. But it has done an admirable job of whipping up images from text prompts.

Did you know that Grok from xAI now generates images? Just ask it to draw.

It's a worthy addition to Ideogram.ai and Pika.art ... and faster, too. Image 1: Odysseus and his crew in their ship.

Just turned on "Nobody Wants This" (Netflix) ... which is probably what 95% of the country thinks about a Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl rematch.

Wildfires raging in LA.

Insanity raging in Washington DC.

So here's a reminder that there is still love and beauty in the world. Captured on a walk in Dorado PR yesterday.

Happy New Year! We woke up this morning to a power outage affecting all of Puerto Rico for 2-3 days. So we called a friend in Palmas, 80 minutes away, who entreated us to stay at their place for 1-2 days (they have a generator). I can report that the duck ponds here are still operational!

Merry Christmas, everyone! Here's a shot from outside our condo complex just now. Our son Robert is visiting this week, his fourth visit to Puerto Rico. Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday! 🎄🎁🍪☃️🌟

Just as the arrest of Harvey Weinstein spurred the MeToo movement and Parkland led to a wider discussion of gun violence, it's good that the tragic United Healthcare shooting perpetrated by this nutjob is leading to a long overdue conversation about health care in America—and how pissed people are.
