Can't wait for Bong Joon Ho's #Mickey17. It looks silly, irreverant, & socially conscious - right up my alley.

Companion successfully balances humor, horror, satire, & social commentary. It is a better movie than it has any need to be.

Sophie Thatcher & Jack Quaid nail all the nuances of their roles.

#Pride&Prejudice published 212 years ago today. Which means my first crush is in her 230s by now. Always did have a thing for older women.

If you see this, post a fictional artist/band you would love to see live.

40 yrs ago, I saw a debut movie by two local filmakers at the Cooper theater in their hometown - St Louis Park.

Gripping, grimy, & funny - I was captivated. The Coens instantly became must see artists & #BloodSimple remains one of my favorite films to this day.

It's a crime. Should have gotten a nom for Ordinary People. Hutton in wrong category. I'd also give him one for Pride & Prejudice.

However, there are countless others. Sutherland made every movie he was in better.

Farewell to one of the far too rare politicians who truly understood what it means to be a public servant.

#JimmyCarter, we didn't deserve you. May we model ourselves on your grace & kindness.

#TheHoldovers is a time machine back to the films of the early 70s. Funny & touching w/o being saccharine, it is the perfect holiday movie.

Alexander Payne consistently makes low key gems.

The night after I visited Bethel, it occured to me to filter my Ancestry DNA matches by ancestor location & found one whose ancestor was buried in the cemetery - George Washington Slappey. W/no Twillies in his tree, it seems pretty likely that either Matthew's father or Georgia's was a Slappey.

Also buried in Bethel are Bashiby & her son Allen Jackson Twillie. Bashiby is likely Mary Ann's sister. Holly is listed for the maiden name on each of their death cerificates.

Allen registered for WWI draft living w/his aunt Mary Ann. He died in her home & was discovered by Georgia's son Matthew.
