I was desperate to get in and out of college ASAP, wanted to get my required Master's and get a job, was tired of being broke and depressed. And I still can't think of a class that wasn't useful.

Thanks! That's essentially what my best guess was but don't have much experience with screen readers (except for accidentally turning it on on Windows 20 years ago and not being able to turn it off)
