At #nokings in Louisville today. As a sign said, I have to be able to tell my grandchildren I did not stay silent. Marched for a political cause for the first time in my life at 65. Happy & proud to “show up & witness” with Laura, her sister Lynn, the Finer Things Club & other friends.

All my Civil War heroes were loyal to the Union. Recently paid respects to some of them. General George Gordon Meade; the First Minnesota; Patrick “Paddy” O’Rorke; and, of course, Abraham Lincoln. Their courage, moral & physical, inspires in these trying times.

Emotional trauma, you say? Losing 26 in a row will do that. Here’s a few from our family archives (a shoebox). 1973 an especially brutal loss. But that 1964 game! Hope Cats keep playing the Vols every season.

Two men bear primary responsibility for the U.S. not holding Trump politically or legally responsible for attempting a coup: Mitch McConnell & John Roberts. But essentially all elected Republicans & Trump voters are complicit. As a result, fascism now imperils our American constitutional democracy.

This time last week was at my first @racingloufc.com away match. In D.C. Fun. Would’ve been great fun if there had only been ten minutes second half stoppage time. But we ARE a good team. Still on best stretch of soccer in franchise history. This DiGrande, DeMelo & Flint warmup drill mesmerized me.
