There are tools for that. “Alexa, what’s 325 degrees Fahrenheit in Celsius?”

Ooh, this is going to cause trouble here at our house in Paris…always been a slices of fresh garlic in the meat house. But given my love of Greek food (and the country) I’ll try it your way. You just have to defend me from my wife who is already worried about that much oregano.

Excuse my French, but fucking idiots!

Nicely put!

AOC is really emerging as a leader that we need in this moment.

Even in these crazy times we need to mark the moments that define us. Happy birthday to you 🎶

You have to think about what would have the most visual impact. Maybe catcalls and boos for the president when he arrives? Someone calling out ‘you lie’ every time he does? Tears would be good, tears for what America was. Time at least to stop showing him any respect, regardless of the office!

It needs more European adoption. I guess the UK is a start. But recently
Le Monde said that they were pulling their content off of X and going to Facebook and Instagram. I will try to reach out to someone there and this platform.

Great suggestion! Went to see a Vermeer exhibit in Amsterdam a couple of years ago and his paintings are intriguing!

I follow Agence France Presse, but it’s in French so might not work for you. Then of course The Economist, and they have a starter pack of their journalists. I’m just new here, so still trying to figure it out.

Not a surprise but still a shame. Who can possibly govern France now?
December 4, 2024 at 7:47 PM
I wish that there were more European sources here. I live in France and have found only a few.

I agree with the US suggestion. It has been an exceptionally newsworthy year there politically, financially ( who is doing better in 2024?), technology-wise (AI anyone?) and is bound to continue to surprise in the coming year.

Just down the street from me. Well, like 3 km, but straight down one street. I remember coming out of the RER station and seeing the smoke and thinking that we were going to lose it. Did you know that there is a metal plate in front of it that is km 0 in France?

Excellent list, to be put with my other lists of books to read…
