No worries, you have the right idea - we leave the coffee maker power switch ON and plug it into the smart outlet. The outlet turns ON/OFF according to an automated schedule.I’m using Alexa (because it’s simple and I had one) but you could use the manufacture’s app (TP Link?) just as easily.
