I'd be curious to know if Bill 60's prohibition on cities doing anything but adding more car lanes, means that any consideration of HSR/transit lanes, on a hypothetically expanded Linc/RHVP, is off the table? #HamOnt

Prohibition re reduction of lanes 195.3(1) Except as permitted by the regulations, a municipality shall not, by by-law or otherwise, reduce or permit a reduction in the number of marked lanes available for travel by motor vehicles on a highway or a portion of a highway under the municipality’s jurisdiction and control for any of the following purposes: 1. While they understand why the Pier 8 project is delayed, Ferris said Habitat for Humanity continues to seek out these types of partnerships with homebuilders to help fill the “affordable housing void” in Hamilton. “We’re always seeking to build as many affordable units as we can, as quickly as we can,” he said. “However, we also know we need to be patient in this challenging climate.”

As Ford's #Bill60 allows municipalites to privatize water systems, and coucil's "fiscal hawks" take aim at revenue from stormwater fees, I'm reminded that two years ago Nick Winters, Director of #HamOnt Water, told us that our water/storm/sanitary systems have an *annual* funding shortfall of $101M.

Twenty Rd does have signs inviting people to🚶🏻‍♂️ but without sidewalks or bike lanes it’s understood as 🚷🚳.
