I love that the final number features synchronised ship dancing, and Spock going "Oh shit, I've gotta join in again". It's cheesy as hell, but I love it. It's fun

Nurse Chapel's song is a bit of a bop and I love that everyone in the bar gets in on it. The choreography on this one fell a bit flat for me when Chapel spends basically just a whole chorus being held up in the air. But I do love the emotional gut punch it delivers at the end

I know people have issues with the Klingon referring to dishonour in relation to singing in this episode. The dishonour isn't in the *singing*, Klingons love to sing. The dishonour is in not being able to control what they're singing

"Keeping Secrets" is probably the song I feel is the most underrated song in the episode for me. It really showcases the relationship between Una and La'an, and Una's heartbreak at seeing La'an repeating her mistakes (and it's a recurring theme in Una's songs in this episode)

I love that the songs in Subspace Rhapsody establish thematic ideas early on with Private Conversation. And hats off to Anson Mount for giving this a proper go. You can tell he's not a trained singer but he went for it

My "brain's melted" rewatch of Strange New Worlds continues with Subspace Rhapsody. Probably one of my favourite ridiculous episodes of Trek ever

Possibly my favourite bit of season 2 of Strange New Worlds is Pike's ever increasing levels of "Fuck it, I'm just gonna pretend this is normal" energy
