Hell I'd have preferred even just a "Hey I thought this would take X time but I got so many comms it'll take Y instead" over feeling scammed.

And I get that people have lives. Shit happens. But tell me that or give me some kind of heads up. Post a journal or something to be like "Hey comms are delayed because ...". I don't even need all the details, "delayed due to irl issue" is fine. But don't give me a date you'll send something and

while filling up their queue. Promising less than a month turn around and then 3+ months later barely having a doodle to show for it. Ghosting messages, promising updates quick and prompt and then going silent for ages. I got multiple "I'll send X tomorrow" only to get it weeks later.

For me: It was an artist who once was prompt with any information they had to pass on. Be it delays, questions, etc. They gave good rough estimates of how long a piece would take - and never gave a due date unless they were sure.

Now they barely reply to messages, but beg for commissions
