If it's clear that the treatment group is doing markedly better than the placebo group, would the placebo group also be given the treatmnt? I'm thinking about, among other things, ethics of having sick ppl continue to suffer for a year. I know no one wants that, but establishing data is important.

Non fascist leaders are at least vulnerable to public pressure. We can usually make them do the right thing, or have the other lawmakers constrain them. Not easy or pleasant, but better than fascism. The fight for people's rights is never over.

We generally want to help everyone do better.

The truth is that Dems generally don't hate men or think they're inherently bad. We try to judge individuals on their behavior.
That being said, some individual Dems have different personal opinions, but that's not representative of the party.

So true. I saw something recently with several guys who had mostly voted R complain that Dems were always complaining about "toxic masculinity," and I can't remember that ever being a Dem talking point. I do remember lots of clickbait articles and podcasters claiming it was true. And it worked.

They will come out for someone with charisma who promises them the moon. They usually won't come out for great candidates with a great record of service who isn't cool enough.

I keep hearing ppi complain about what liberals believe, but frequently the only "evidence" for those beliefs is other ppl/articles/foreign ops/opposing politicians/podcasters confidently declaring what they think libs believe. No analysis whatsoever of if it's true or possibly an ulterior motive.

Meanwhile the list of awful, destructive 1 term politicians keeps growing. Length of power isn't inherently a bad thing, being a terrible person is. Her constituency could have told her to take a hike any time, but they didn't. Her institutional knowledge helped us pass some great bills.
