one time I saw some guy on discord say that the bungie level artists were in the presence of otherworldly spirits when designing the forerunner architecture in halo 3, and that specifically is why it's better than the halo 4 designs.

I think there's nothing stopping non-NA people from playing the alpha, it's just that the ping will be worse because only the NA servers are up rn

Even if the new game is a visual departure from the OG trilogy, that short definitely captured the feel.
I hope they can keep it up with the storytelling in the game itself, but it seems like they're saving it for the full launch in September.

it just uses poker hands as a gameplay mechanic, there's no actual gambling involved. at most it uses poker imagery to relate game concepts to new players. (score targets are blinds, points are chips, levels are antes, etc.)
