A likely more important drive was the hardening of the traditional lorry/ferry crossing point.

I’m not sure if there is a formal rota, but between The Guardian and the MEN we get these formulaic pearl-clutching pieces about once every six months or so. I think at least half the city has been asked to contribute a vox pop at some point.

London seems to be the only place in the U.K. where other funding mechanisms - e.g. TIF, land value capture - might actually be viable. Perhaps Khan should stop bleating to HMT and work up some solutions.
