A year on from our sold-out works in progress reading at Blackwell’s in Oxford… we have moved to the next stage and our rehearsed reading is on Wednesday 29th October at the Old Fire Station in Oxford… looking forward to seeing you there.

Nutritious, climate resilient delicious foods that can thrive in poor soils have been with us for millennia.

Thrilled to come across these delicious ragi crisps in Mumbai - in Kenya we call finger millet (Eleusine coracana) wimbi and make porridge from it.

It’s an ancient East African grain.

Always a joy to write about allotments and this time it was for lovely the simple things.

In it one of things I describe is ‘The Rule of Six’ which gives the right of six people from different households to demand an allotment from their local council is there is insufficient supply’

One never knows where doctoral research will lead. In my case to a art project with Greenpeace drawing attention to the 174,183 applications on allotment waiting lists across Britain. Artists allotmenteers and volunteers performed this artwork at the Department of Levellong up this morning.
