It's been a great season of archaeological excavations with my students. First week is over. Another three to go on the millenar mounds of Southern Brazil.

A short but very productive fieldwork before starting the archaeological excavations at the millenar mounds of the central coast of Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil, along with colleagues from the department of palaeontology and stratigraphy at UFRGS. Drones, GPRs (and friendly dogs) at their best!

This weekend, I was with my undergraduate student at the Altair stranded ship. It's been here since 1976 and it's now the ficus of my student's research. We have been interviewing dozens of visitors to know their opinion on the site's importance as a regional cultural heritage.

Opening of the exhibition “USP 90 years: an immersive journey through our Museums”. Beautiful pieces and virtual reality from the museums of the University of São Paulo. From January 30 to February 28, 2025, it’s worth a visit!

If you are interested in the early occupation of South America, and don't know where to start reading about the subject, here is an Encyclopedia of Archaeology entry published a year ago, written by myself in collaboration with Prof. Carlos Lopez.

So, finally Bluesky started to get interesting for science. I hope the algorithm connects me with people interested in Archaeology, human evolution, native people in the Americas, popular science, lithic studies, hunter-gatherers, Experimental Archaeology, etc...
