This man is completely unhinged.
Nadhim Zahawi thinks London is now unsafe, because the other day a tired-looking man walked past him during the morning rush hour.

British multiculturalism - day to day, on the ground - is a successful experiment. The UK enjoys a shared set of political facts, as represented by the non-tribal backlash over Partygate/Truss. The British obsession with irony & suspicion of sincerity provides some protection against demagoguery.
So,as a little thought-experiment, tell me something about the United Kingdom that works well and is actually quite impressive. I am not trying to sound like some boosterish politician. I just genuinely believe that making people believe that all is lost is a convenient pretext for shady characters.

For all its flaws, the UK offers protection against discrimination and enforcement of rights that would be the envy of most countries. The rule of law still operates IE prorogation case. There is a lack of right-wing religious rhetoric and indeed religion is largely treated as ridiculous.

I could spend all day doing this. Place is amazing. We just don't talk about it much because a) we're British and it's embarrassing b) practical patriotism is about recognising what needs fixing, not celebrating what's already been done

1. The RW press will never give Labour a fair shake, period. Just? No. Reality. Abso-beeping-lutely.

2. Therefore it is absurd to avoid doing things for fear of antagonising journalists whose very jobs depend on finding fault with Labour.

3. So start on the long path to reversing Brexit. Now.
