God is always blessing me. I am leaving Grambling State and headed to the University of Michigan this fall to pursue a doctoral degree in Jazz & Contemporary Improvisation. This one is personal for me. #blacksky #jazzsky

Roy Ayers... another great architect of SOUL music has made his transition. A great jazz vibraphonist, composer, and producer who knew no boundaries in music.

"Everybody Loves the Sunshine" x Roy Ayers x Theo Croker x Kiefer.

Rest in Power! 👑🕊

Happy birthday to one of my favorite improvisers of all time. Donald Byrd was born on this day, December 9th, 1932. My favorite album of his is, Byrd in Hand, his second album under the legendary Blue Note label. Also the pioneer to my alma master's jazz program #jazzsky

My pen is different! and not just in this space... across many idioms of music! This is what almost 20 years of honing your craft sounds like. Been doing this writing shit since I was 15.

My "end of the fall marching season" tradition has been to buy a bottle of scotch. This year's bottle is Glenfiddich 12. Cheers to the last game of the season 🥃
