I agree that modern education doesn’t impart a lot of the OS knowledge that we had to gain to deal with a lot of issues in the ecosystem in the 90s and 2000s. You can get a command prompt in Windows 10/11, and you can even get a native Linux prompt. But you don’t need to, so most don’t.
