There are no substantial benefits to the LAX ATMP Roadways Project, it's not even planned to be completed before the 2028 Olympics, and they're using one of the same contractors as the 3-year delayed, $600 million over budget LAX People Mover. I smell corruption […]

Alright, Republicans are pledging to revisit ACA subsidies by mid-December. Speaker Johnson also said next week they will introduce legislation to repeal a provision that currently allows 8 GOP senators a $500,000 payout. I hope they keep their promises. 🤞🏼 #notcorrupt #politics […]

**AT THE INTERSECTION** of San Francisco’s Market and Montgomery streets Tuesday, transit advocates congregated to voice their disdain about the city’s decision to open up the roadway to ride hailing services. Several transit advocacy groups rallied together in the late afternoon and called upon San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie to reconsider his administration’s decision to reopen the city’s main thoroughfare to commercial traffic after banning most non-public transit vehicles five years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the bells of streetcars and honks of Muni buses can still be heard traveling down the road, almost all other vehicles have been limited to certain crossing points going across Market Street. During his campaign for mayor, one of his largest policy points was to combat the growing number of abandoned offices and retail spaces in downtown San Francisco. Local advocacy groups point to the reduction in collisions and faster public transit times as proof the car-free road has been successful. (Andres Jimenez Larios/Bay City News) Streets For All San Francisco, a group that calls for safer and slower streets across the city, joined the coalition of protesters. Executive Director Robin Pam said the reduction in private vehicles traveling down Market Street has been a net positive for public transit riders as congestion has largely been reduced. “Market Street was actually never designed for cars,” said Pam. “The solution to traffic is not putting more cars on the street, it’s not making it easier to drive everywhere or creating more lanes in our downtown street grid. The solution to traffic is getting more people to take the bus, to get out of their cars, whether that’s carpooling, taking the bus, riding their bike, walking where they need to go, and making all of those other ways of getting around much more accessible and safer for everybody, and making them faster.” Streets Forward wants the thoroughfare to remain closed to commercial vehicles because they believe the documented improvements made by public transit, bicyclists, and pedestrians show what has worked for the city. > The solution to traffic is getting more people to take the bus, to get out of their cars, whether that’s carpooling, taking the bus, riding their bike, walking where they need to go, and making all of those other ways of getting around much more accessible and safer for everybody, and making them faster. > > Robin Pam, streets for all san francisco Executive Director “Streets Forward is ready to work collaboratively with Mayor Lurie to revitalize Market Street and downtown using data-driven best practices that will deliver positive and measurable results for Market Street, downtown, and San Francisco,” said the organization’s executive director, Luke Bornheimer. “The people of San Francisco deserve visionary leadership that moves us forward, not tried-and-failed policies that will move us backward.” Uber spokesperson Ramona Prieto said the company looks forward to serving riders across the downtown area to help revitalize the area. **Left:** Carol Brownson sits in a bike on the corner of Market and Montgomery streets in San Francisco, Calif., on Wednesday, August 26, 2025. **Right:** Protesters at the corner of Market and Montgomery streets in San Francisco, Calif., on Wednesday, August 26, 2025. According to the agency, the rollout will be gradual and closely monitored as they analyze the pros and cons as well as public sentiment.

⚠️ The SoFi Stadium Shuttle will run from the new LAX/Metro Transit Center instead of Hawthorne/Lennox Station. https://thesource.metro.net/sofi-stadium-shuttle-running-from-lax-metro-transit-center-for-rams-and-chargers-games-this-season/

We’ve updated the route of our SoFi Stadium Shuttle for this NFL season. Rams and Chargers fans have a new way to get to SoFi Stadium this season —our free SoFi Stadium Shuttle will be running from the newly-opened LAX/Metro Transit Center Station served by the C Line, K Line and local buses. Point-of-emphasis: the old SoFi Stadium Shuttle route between Hawthorne/Lennox Station and the stadium will no longer be served. If you’re riding to the game on the C Line, ride to the LAX/Metro Transit Center — which is just a few minutes from Hawthorne/Lennox Station. The SoFi Stadium shuttle will continue throughout the NFL season for all pre-season, regular season and playoff games starting with the Rams vs. Cowboys game on Saturday, August 9, and the Chargers vs. Saints on Sunday, August 10. A few details: •The shuttle boards at Bay 8 at the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station. •Buses will be every 3 to 5 minutes beginning three hours before kickoff. Return service starts at the beginning of the 4th quarter and continues for 90 minutes after the game or until all fans are onboard. •At SoFi Stadium, buses use the lot on the southeast side of Prairie Avenue and Arbor Vitae Street. •While there is no public parking at the LAX/Metro Transit Center, nearby park-and-ride lots are available at many Metro Rail stations — some are free, others have a daily fee of $3. On the C Line, stations with parking include Aviation/LAX, Crenshaw, Hawthorne/Lennox, Willowbrook/Rosa Parks and Norwalk, among others. On the K Line, stations with parking include Redondo Beach (K Line), El Segundo (K Line) and Fairview Heights (K Line). All parking info is here. •The SoFi shuttle is free to the public but regular fares apply on the rest of our system on game days. Regular adult fare is $1.75 one-way or $3.50 round-trip. You can purchase a TAP fare card from TAP machines at all Metro rail and busway stations or — for convenience — use your smartphone as a TAP card with our TAP app. •LAX/Metro Transit Center has a ton of amenities, including a Metro Customer Center, wide rail platforms and — by popular demand — public restrooms 🙂 •To plan your transit trip, we recommend using Apple Maps, Google Maps, the Moovit or Transit apps or the trip planner at metro.net. It should be a great NFL season with high expectations for the Rams and Chargers. The Rams host the Lions on Dec. 14 in a contest that could be an NFC championship game preview. And The Source anticipates the Bolts will welcome Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals next Jan. 25 in a matchup for the AFC trophy. ### Like this: Like Loading... ### _Related_ * * * ### Discover more from The Source Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email. LA is broke even though there are financially solvent cities around the world. This isn't an unsolvable or even unique problem. We know the solution; we just lack the political courage to accept it.

Remember tomorrow Feb 28, 2025 is the economic boycott.

Billionaire Busting Boycott

Don’t buy anything. Tell everyone you know if they want to show their economic power don’t buy anything from anywhere tomorrow.

This only works if we band together - we outnumber them by hundreds of millions.
