Thank you! I've learned how important it is to Differentiate instruction based on my students' individual learning needs. #TeacherEd #SpEd

A5: Differentiation, UDL, positive reinforcement, and requiring students to hold themselves accountable for their learning can go a long way in teaching students with learning disabilities. #TeacherEd #SpEd

A4: I actively encourage my students to advocate for themselves. If a student is visibly struggling I ask them directly what they need to be successful and it may be as simple as using manipulatives for the assessment. #TeacherEd #SpEd

That's great! I'm going to try to add mini-accommodations now.

I encourage students to use audiobooks if they have difficulty reading as well as animated books on Epic Books. #TeacherEd #SpEd #langchat

I encourage my students free-use of the space so they don't have to simply sit in their seats all day. They can work on the carpet or back table. I also incorporate frequent brain breaks so they can get their energy out. #TeacherEd #SpEd

That's great to hear! I fear for the future of diversity & inclusion right now.

I think that's why it's so important we teach our students the importance of diversity and inclusion. So sad it's under attack. #TeacherEd #SpEd

This is a great reflection. Aides can only do so much and it's up to us to modify to their individual learning needs. #TeacherEd #SpEd

Good stretches!

Yeah, most of my students are very low and need that one-on-one attention, but they do not have IEP's or 504's. This is especially challenging when I know they would benefit from accommodations.

I am fortunate to have a co-teacher so I can work with my IEP students directly when he is with the larger group. I can't imagine not having a co-teacher now. #TeacherEd #SpEd

Fortunately, I have a co-teacher, so I am able to pull small my students with IEP's/504's to provide them with more-focused attention while maintaining inclusiveness in the classroom. The most challenging aspect has been modifying lessons to match their learning needs.
