Theology 101: It's very difficult to be an eschatological heretic; you have to labor hard to go against the clear teaching of Scripture, the universal Christian consensus, and all the creeds; alas, the modern novelty of full (hyper) preterism proved up to the challenge.

Theology 101: The Bible was written by, to, and among a people of faith formed by a clear, stable content of faith. To read it outside that living faith community and apart from that legacy of faith content is to read the Bible in a way it was never meant to be read.

Theology 101: I’m unashamedly and uncompromisingly trinitarian not because it’s an important doctrine OF the Christian faith, but because it IS the Christian Faith.

Listening to some Christians on Communion Sunday, you’d think Christ is everywhere present except at the Lord’s Supper.

Saying the Bible isn't easy doesn’t mean we can’t grasp its main message.

But the Bible makes demands of us. It calls for thought, patience, and devotion.

The path to truly internalizing and digesting Scripture is rugged, intentionally so, for this is how the Spirit does his work in our lives.

As a Charles Wesley fan, I’m here to help with one of the best (and most often incorrectly edited) Christmas hymn lyrics of all.

Do you know which lyric it is?

Hint: it’s in “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” /1

Arianism was not a result of allegorical interpretation of the Bible, but novel literal interpretation of figurative language. Hermeneutics matters.

We who embrace the divine inspiration of Scripture must never uncritically adopt a secular philosophy of interpretation.

There is one God (Mal 2:10).
The Father is God (Jn 6:27).
The Son is God (Jn 1:1).
The Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4).
The Father is not the Son (Jn 20:17).
The Son is not the Spirit (Jn 14:16).
The Spirit is not the Father (Jn 14:26).
There is one God, not three gods (Isa 45:22).
