A student gifted me this book at the end of last year. I just finished it. Fantasy is not my go-to genre, but I really enjoyed this book. I love student recommendations and I might be slow paced, but I get to them. Now I get to watch the series.

Saw a bobcat in our drive down the California coast today. What a stunning coastline we have. I'm so glad we've preserved at least some wild spaces to help there still be wildlife here. I ❤️ California.

I'm away for a " reading weekend" with my20 yo. It was the kid's idea. 😊. This is my morning walk with an audiobook about Catherine de medici.

Got my inauguration edition hat (IYKYK) on whilst watching 6 triple 8 movie and finishing a woodwork project this morning. Then it's out to commune with nature to prepare for what comes next. Not watching our country's failure to follow through on the "and justice for all" part of the pledge.

I am 80% done with the audiobook - nicely read by the author. I checked the physical book out from the library today because there's just so much cool stuff about how plants interact with the world around them. Highly recommend if you read Hidden Life of Trees and liked it.

The winter reading ideas board is up. New this year are strong contenders for Newbery, Caldecott, and Sibert awards that are announced in January in case anyone wants to read ahead and make a prediction. Happy reading everyone!

I just finished this audiobook, narrated by the author. Riveting book about the US & our atrocious behavior towards indigenous people leading up to present day attempts to keep taking land and power. It's an arduous & fascinating journey through the legal battles. Totally recommend.

Spent a happy Sunday afternoon taking out Halloween and putting in holiday. By request from late stage teen. I left up the spider web and just made it a tree. And also left the dragon skeleton pointlessly guarding a hoard - because wealth hoarders. Just having fun with yard lights.

Introduce yourself with 4 Board Games:

These are the ones that get the most rotation by a landslide. Snake oil is something I've introduced to kids who come play a quick round at recess ( minus a few questionable cards).
