I have made Kanzashi flowers in the past…could resurrect the skill…and now that I’m a quilter, I have plenty of scraps!! Also quilted flowers

Finally finished the quilt for my younger granddaughter. It got interrupted by the quilt I had to make to practice the longarm pattern. The daisies are freezer paper circles with hexies. The background is hexies. If I were to do something similar…I’d find a better way. 😂 #Quiltsky #ModernQuilting

At 67 I’m the child of a child of the Depression. Thus I have a large collection of buttons from my grandmother and mother. I was considering doing this (see pic) but think I’ll need them for clothes now!

How do you do the circled areas? Where the different fabrics merge in a pointy way? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this, and while it is probably not complicated, it’s got me stumped!

I started with little mats that are now on counters and coffee table around the house. Basically read a bit about improv, started cuttinf, sewing, recutting, etc. Don’t worry, it’s only fabric!! Dive in!!
